Dame Vivienne Westwood 1941 - 2022
Sadly, since I originally published this blog, Vivienne Westwood passed away on the 29th December 2022.
A visionary, a romantic, a rebel; her work continues to excite, inspire and enthral me.
We lost two two Queens last year, forever linked by the Silver Jubilee.

The last few months have been of great historical significance in the UK, in June of this year we celebrated the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, an extraordinary seventy year reign, which made her the longest serving Monarch in British History.
Three months later on the 8th of September, the nation received the sad news that the Queen had passed away.
The seven decades of her reign saw enormous changes in every aspect of society, not least fashion, so during the summer months we had a bit of fun with a little Punk Collection.....
I think it's fair to say that Punk has become part of our cultural DNA (Bondage trousers and Anarchy T-shirts can be found in the archives of the V&A), but this summer, 45 years after the Sex Pistols may or may not have had a Number One with God Save The Queen (depending on which source you believe), has seen a resurgence of interest. There has been 'Pistol' Danny Boyle's biographical drama series about the Sex Pistols, adapted from the Steve Jones autobiography 'Lonely Boy, and 'Wake Up Punk' a documentary about Joe Corré's decision to burn (an estimated five million pounds worth) of memorabilia to protest the commodification of punk. Pamela Rooke AKA Jordan/Jordan Mooney, who sadly passed away earlier this year was a Punk Muse and Icon (also massively influential to the Sex Pistols) loved ballet, you can see her dancing in Derek Jarman's 1978 Film 'Jubilee' (Caution, contains male nudity, think living Greek statue, but may not br suitable for younger eyes!)
